Still wasn't happy with the lettering composition, so...

Here's another go...

invite with amends

Just to recap.. Amends were

  1. Dancing couple - with empire fit dress for bride (long at back but able to see shoes/feet) and shrug, groom wearing normal dress suit.
  2. Add sketchy texture where poss but esp the Bride's dress and tree
  3. add initialed heart to tree (**i've gone for one initial each but can easily change it to two if you prefer)
  4. Add two cats to the scene (one in tree if poss)
  5. Add a guitar (subtle but it's deffo there ;) can make more obvious if you'd prefer)
  6. Add text sent via email - i've kept this to the layout on the PDF - happy (probs needs) to be realigned
Hope this is ok - let me know and I'll send through as a pdf and also pull together the accommodation sheet using the border and some motifs - let me know which ones you like best (ie a cat/the embelton hall stone/the carved/love heart/etc)

x

Amanda's little biog

Amanda was born in Bonn, Germany to a opera singer father and a ballet dancer mother and so dancing and music was ingrained in the blood at quite a young age. She trained as a dancer and has been performing, making and planning dance since.
She met Kit in 1997 when they were both working on a dance project together. She was dancing and he was playing guitar. Amanda was attracted to his long curly locks and his enigmatic (she found out later that he's just shy) personality. They share a love of all things restorative either for the soul and walking in the hills (Northumberland or the Lakes), the house or special finds from a car boot sale. She also enjoys making things with her sewing machine and listening to music while cooking nice food drinking a cocktail.
Apart from dance and Kit the other love of her life is he son Joshua. He is a chef and works in a restaurant called Kota in Prothlevan Cornwall. His girlfriend is Lorraine and she has a lovely little girl called Bailey Rae. Amanda and Kit are about to become grandparents when Junior will be born sometime in June 2012. Amanda loves the sun and needs to find a warm place once a year. She likes to do this with Kit however he is normally behind the camera and Amanda in a book or in the sea.

Borders

Here and here and here and even here are some lovely border/corner inspirations. i could look at these for aaaaages :)

Amanda and Kit are getting hitched...

Thought I'd make us a virtual space to share/record the progress. Here's a couple of links to some other wedding invites I've done using the story of the couple -

Georgina and Chris - British seaside wedding, met at Bamburgh caravan park when they were teenagers (and now have their own caravan there) I think there's a long list of their joint loves on the blog. I did all the print for this one - save the dates, invitations (map/rsvp/things to do/stay), order of service, menu, thank yous, hen do t-shirts, signage, table plans, table signs, etc - the lot.

Eleanor and Tim -  They met on their daily train commute from Seveanoaks to London . He loves cricket and has a vineyard and they have 2 cats. It also features their house. For this one I did invites, rsvp cards, thanks yous and order of services.

Here's a couple of screengrabs from our wedding doodles to give a flavour of a different style but, like we discussed I'd be totally open/willing to try something completely new and super excited about a Poirot/English country house/30s style affair :)

Our wedding will be 50s kitsch/christmas style (colours are red and duck egg blue/jade) so have done a few drawings (digitally) to reflect that which i might us on sweetie bags etc...

Colour for digital printing...

And newspaper style one colour for letterpress/mono printing...

This is our save the date...
